FR : Enregistré en 2019, Anabasis attendait finalement que les nuages disparaissent pour enfin éclore. Ce troisième long format de L’Effondras invite à abandonner l’urgence imposée par ce monde, et à se réapproprier la contemplation. Une convocation que les burgiens inscrivent dans la continuité de leur rock instrumental aux atmosphères aussi changeantes qu’un climat incertain.

Préférant repeindre par-dessus les horizons sinueux qu’il avait dessiné lors de ses précédentes productions, le trio, aux allures plus posées et au line up recomposé, se place à nouveau en fin observateur du temps qu’il distend à sa guise. Une patience qui fonctionne à merveille de bout en bout des cinq longs fragments de cet album formant un ensemble homogène : rien ne s’éparpille, tout prend forme dans la méticulosité des instruments pourtant engagés dans la saturation et de mélodies métamorphosées en mirages de grands espaces (The Griding Wheel, Ce Que Révèle l’Eclipse). Dans cette fabrique aux paysages mouvants et rocailleux, où durée et répétitions ne viennent jamais nous assoupir, le collectif alterne avec brio intentions claires-obscures et appels d’air flamboyants (Aura Phase, Anhedonia). Une nouveauté apparait dans le cheminement du groupe puisqu’une voix discrète sur le superbe Norea laisserait presque imaginer un plausible futur orienté vers le texte.

Selon l’endroit où l’on sonde son intimité, la sève du disque se fait tantôt libératrice ou angoissante. Le trio l’injecte judicieusement en laissant volontairement ouvertes les portes de la perception, tenant fermement la barre de son propos autant que la main de son auditoire dans les méandres de son univers racé. Disque après disque, et encore plus aujourd’hui avec Anabasis, L’Effondras convertit sa matière sonore en œuvre d’une splendeur irradiante qu’il est urgent d’acquérir pour qui aime côtoyer le magnifique et l’intense.

A convocation that the Burgers inscribe in the continuity of their instrumental rock with atmospheres as changeable as an uncertain climate.

Preferring to repaint over the sinuous horizons that he had drawn during his previous productions, the trio, with the more posed paces and with the recomposed line up, places itself again in fine observer of the time that he distends as he pleases. A patience which works marvelously from the beginning to the end of the five long fragments of this album forming a homogeneous whole: nothing is scattered, everything takes shape in the meticulousness of the instruments however engaged in the saturation and of the melodies metamorphosed in mirages of big spaces (The Griding Wheel, Ce Que Révèle l’Eclipse). In this factory with moving and rocky landscapes, where duration and repetitions never come to make us sleepy, the collective alternates with brilliance clear-dark intentions and flamboyant air calls (Aura Phase, Anhedonia). A novelty appears in the path of the group since a discreet voice on the superb Norea would almost let imagine a plausible future directed towards the text.

According to the place where one probes its intimacy, the sap of the disc is sometimes liberating or distressing. The trio injects it judiciously by voluntarily leaving the doors of perception open, holding firmly the bar of its subject as much as the hand of its audience in the meanders of its racy universe. Disc after disc, and even more so today with Anabasis, L’Effondras converts its sound matter into a work of radiant splendor that is urgently needed for those who like to be close to the magnificent and the intense.
