Description
Featuring a couple of duets, some Bardot-sung, Gainsbourg-penned numbers, and a number of Serge-only tunes, this is not, technically, a completely collaborative record. It is, however, one of Gainsbourg’s finest releases featuring a wide range of styles from moody, funky French-pop (“Bonnie And Clyde”), to barroom piano jazz (“Bubble Gum”), to Afro-Caribbean rhythms (“Pauvre Lola” and “Baudelaire”), to the swinging 60s pop he was most known for at the time (“Docteur Jeckyll et Monsieur Hyde”). A classic from these two French heroes (originally released in 1968).
